Stainless Steel Braided Hose Product Guide and Technical Data

The 304 SS Braided Hose from NUHU is a high-performance flexible connection solution engineered for demanding fluid and gas transfer applications across residential, commercial, and industrial systems. Constructed with a corrugated 304 stainless steel inner core and a tightly woven 304 stainless steel outer braid, this hose delivers exceptional resistance to corrosion, extreme temperatures, and mechanical stress while maintaining flexibility and long service life. NUHU manufactures every 304 SS braided hose to strict dimensional and pressure standards, ensuring reliable performance in plumbing, HVAC, chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and marine environments.

Unlike rubber or plastic hoses that degrade under heat, ozone, or aggressive chemicals, the 304 SS braided hose maintains structural integrity in harsh operating conditions. The corrugated inner tube provides a continuous metal barrier with excellent flexibility, while the outer braid reinforces the hose against internal pressure spikes and external abrasion. NUHU offers this hose in multiple diameters, lengths, and end connection styles, allowing system designers and installers to match the exact requirements of their application without compromise.

Installation Guidelines for NUHU 304 SS Braided Hose

Proper installation is essential to achieving the full service life of any flexible metal hose. Follow these NUHU recommendations to prevent premature failure and ensure safe operation.

  • Always select a hose length that allows for slight slack and avoids tension on the fittings. A completely straight and tight installation transfers all vibration and thermal movement directly to the end connections.
  • Do not twist the hose during installation. Torque should be applied only to the hex flats of the end fittings, never to the braid or corrugated body.
  • Respect the minimum bend radius listed in the specification table. Bending the hose tighter than the specified radius can kink the inner core and permanently damage the braid.
  • Use a bending mandrel or form when routing around sharp corners. Avoid contact between the braid and sharp edges, threaded rods, or abrasive surfaces. If contact cannot be avoided, install a protective sleeve or guard.
  • For high-temperature applications, allow the hose to expand and contract freely. Fixed anchoring at both ends without a loop or expansion offset can cause fatigue cracking over time.
  • Check the chemical compatibility of the process fluid with 304 stainless steel. While 304 offers good general corrosion resistance, chlorides above 150 ppm at elevated temperatures can cause stress corrosion cracking. In such cases, consult NUHU for alternative alloys or protective measures.
  • After installation, perform a low-pressure leak test with an inert gas or water before introducing the full working pressure. Visually inspect the braid for loose wires, cuts, or discoloration.
